Meet Mike
Mike Doody is the owner and founder of Trinity Rye. Mike had a long-lasting vision of creating a fitness facility with these features after one of his deployments to Afghanistan, where his great friend was tragically killed in action. Bolstering a strong will to win and succeed in honor of Vinson Bryon Adkinson “Trinity”, Mike opened the doors of Trinity Rye in January 2019. Mike is an Army Infantry veteran, with over 15 years of experience in the strength and conditioning field. While in the military, Mike was deployed multiple times to various combat zones. Mike worked in nearly every position the Army and the Infantry have to offer. Mike had the honor and privilege of being selected as an Infantry scout squad leader and platoon sergeant for reconnaissance and sniper sections. Mike was designated as the head strength and conditioning coach for his battalion. Mike designed, developed, and implemented strength and conditioning programs for over 800 Soldiers, including combat performance training, exercise science seminars, performance nutrition programs and rehabilitative training. Mike is a former instructor of mixed martial arts in the Army and coached an Army combative team to a first-place finish on Fort Drum in New York. Mike has an M.B.A. in Entrepreneurship, and a B.S. in Exercise Science from American Military University. He received his Strength & Conditioning Certification and his Master Fitness Certification (MFT) from the U.S. Army Physical Fitness School, his Pain-Free Performance Specialist Certification (PPSC) and his Master Pain-Free Performance Certification (PPSC*M) from Dr. John Rusin, his Certified Personal Training Certification (CPT) and Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Specialist Certification (MMACS) from the American Fitness Professionals Association and the National Academy of Sports Medicine, both his Functional Movement Screen Certifications (FMS-2) and his Fundamental Capacity Screen Certification (FCS), from Functional Movement Systems, both of his USA Weightlifting Certifications (USAW-2) from Team USA, and he has attended various workshops and certifications for cardiovascular training, energy system optimization, performance nutrition and more. Prior to the military, Mike was an avid sports player. In high school Mike played football, wrestling, and baseball, where he was a 2x All-North Jersey catcher, and a division 1 college athlete. Mike was also a nationally qualified NPC bodybuilder and took first in the lightweight division of the 2017 summer classic competition at the Westchester county center. Mike leads by example. Mike’s mission for his clients is to create a pain-free lifestyle, ensuring his clients can do what they love while performing at their peak potential.
